Several Gardener's Dream Series and Yin Series pieces have been sold since their conception in 1996 and early 2003 respectively. Shami has also been commissioned to design wedding invitations. and baby announcements (Maya!).

OTHER ARTISTIC ENDEAVOURS

Shami is also an avid potter. She has a pottery studio in her home and primarily makes wheel-thrown pots. Mugs and bowls are some of her favorite things to create! She particularly loves carving her pots with the stylized patterns she uses in her drawings and paintings. Though she has yet to create pots with elephants on them!

Shami also makes beaded jewelry. She collects gemstone, glass, silver, copper and all kinds of other types of beads from all over the world, and creates unique pieces of jewelry from them. She also makes wirework jewelry from hand-twisted metal creations of silver or copper. As in her paintings and pottery, color plays an important role in her jewelry. Her jewelry ranges from colorful chunky ethnic designs to extremely delicate pieces. Shami designs unique creations reminiscent of art from the Far East, Egypt and Africa.
